We are so proud of our expert therapists!

Ann Porretto-Loehrke, PT, DPT, CHT, COMT and Theresa Parry, OT, COMT will be teaching courses at the 18th Annual Wisconsin Hand Experience sponsored by UW Milwaukee, College of Health Sciences Outreach. The event started today and will go through Saturday, May 13th. Theresa’s course “Don’t Judge a Wrist by Its Cover!” will challenge therapists to look beyond wrist pain that commonly presents in the clinic.  An in-depth overview of anatomy, kinematics, and clinical problem solving will be presented to assist in creating a complete picture of the wrist.  Participants will perform a thorough clinical exam, explore special tests, and utilize multiple case studies.  This will assist in the development of clinical decision making skills required to look beyond the apparent presentation when developing treatment plans. Ann’s course “Thoracic Outlet Syndrome:  Where to Begin!” will present a manual therapy approach for treating patients with neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS).  Treatment for the three major impairments related to neurogenic TOS will be  emphasized.  These impairments include:  1st rib evaluation, poor scapular positioning, and posterior shoulder tightness.  Therapists will perform specific clinical testing, assessment and treatment of the 1st rib and posterior shoulder, as well as techniques to improve resting scapular position and dynamic control.  Congratulations on your accomplishments Ann and Theresa!
