Student Jessica DeGroot arrives

Please join us as we welcome Jessica into our therapy clinic. Jessica is a Level II Fieldwork Occupational Therapy Student who will be at Hand to Shoulder Center until July 29. She will be under the direct supervision of Nicole Salm and Theresa Parry.

A little bit about Jessica: she is a graduate student from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee College of Health Sciences. She is working toward completing her final clinical rotation at the Hand to Shoulder Center of Wisconsin and anticipating graduating with a Master of Occupational Therapy degree in August. Jessica has always been interested in careers in which you can make a real difference in other peoples’ lives. When she began my higher education, she was studying in the social sciences. However, she became exposed to and interested in occupational therapy, specifically physical rehabilitation, when her husband was injured and received care at the Hand to Shoulder Center of Wisconsin. She then pursued a degree in this field and was accepted into the program at UW-Milwaukee. During her studies, she also completed a research project with several faculty members at UW-Milwaukee pertaining to physical rehab. Her passion remains in this setting, and plans to begin a career in outpatient physical rehabilitation upon graduation.

Please join us as we welcome Jessica into our physical and occupational therapy department.
