Bio
TJ France, M.D., is proud to be part of the orthopedic team at Hand to Shoulder of Wisconsin, where they specialize in treating conditions from the shoulder all the way to the fingertips. With a special interest in arthritis, sports-related injuries, arthroscopy, and joint replacements of the elbow and shoulder, Dr. France is dedicated to helping patients return to the activities they love.
Dr. France is board eligible by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and brings a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to every visit. Whether treating a complex joint issue or a simple injury, Dr. France uses the latest techniques and technologies to provide high-quality, personalized care. He welcomes patients of all ages and is committed to supporting each person’s journey to better their function and quality of life.
Dr. France earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Denver and then volunteered in west Africa in the United States Peace Corps for two years following undergraduate graduation. He received his medical degree from the Ohio State University and from there completed his five-year orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Colorado, where he was elected to chief resident. He published extensively during this time, with a particular interest in joint mechanics and surgery education. Then, Dr. France proceeded to advance his education and completed a Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship program at the renowned Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition to his clinical role, Dr. France is an academic writer for the American Association for Hand Surgery. Dr. France enjoys the outdoors, especially skiing in the Rocky Mountains, and spending time with his wife and two sons.
