Surgical Privileges and Locations

skip sidebar

Drs. Cherney, Lumsden, Olvey, Cullen, Van Zeeland, Butler, Hildahl and Hennigan have surgical privileges at the three Fox Cities hospitals (ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah, ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Appleton, and St. Elizabeth Hospital). Surgical privileges are defined as having the accessibility to perform procedures and surgeries, order labs and treatment, along with the ability to admit patients to the hospital at these locations.

In addition, all eight of our orthopedic surgeons perform surgery at Woodland Surgery Center, our outpatient surgical center which is adjacent to Hand to Shoulder Center of Wisconsin in Appleton.

Insurance policies and benefits play an important role in the selection of the surgical location. It is our goal to provide you with surgical services at the most cost-effective location available to you based on your insurance coverage. It is ultimately the patient’s responsibility to know and verify insurance coverage and benefits; however, at Hand to Shoulder Center of Wisconsin, insurance benefits are also verified by our Central Scheduling Department to assist in determining your best benefit options and location. Providing our patients with convenient surgical options is a top priority for the physicians and staff, but ultimately, surgical location is determined by the patient.
