Benefits of Working with a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT)

skip sidebar

A Certified Hand Therapist is an occupational or physical therapist who has a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience and 4,000 hours or more of direct practice in hand and upper extremity therapy. At Hand to Shoulder Center of Wisconsin, the majority of our occupational and physical therapists are Certified Hand Therapists who are specifically trained to evaluate and provide the most up-to-date treatment of the finger, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, and shoulder.

We depend on our hands and upper extremities (wrist, forearm, elbow, and shoulder) for everyday function. Loss of function from an orthopedic injury, accident, or cumulative trauma can be devastating. Delicate orthopedic surgery with microscopic techniques can often be required to restore maximum function. Certified Hand Therapists have advanced knowledge and skill in the orthopedic rehabilitation process. Certified Hand Therapists are also trained to address the social, emotional, an physiological effects of these injuries/conditions.

You can rely on the expert, caring hands of our Certified Hand Therapists to go back to an independent, productive, and satisfying life.
