2019 Symposium

The Road to Recovery After Workplace Trauma

Thank you for your interest in attending our 2019 symposium, “The Road to Recovery After Workplace Trauma”.

The physicians and staff at Hand to Shoulder Center of Wisconsin are committed to providing exceptional treatment options for work-related injuries and conditions of the upper extremity. Through this symposium we will focus on work-related injuries from fingertip to shoulder. Case studies and in-depth presentations will emphasize treatments available, postoperative pain management options and the short vs. long haul of recovery.

Taping methods and techniques along with dry needling treatment options will be demonstrated and discussed. Psychological roadblocks in work-related injuries will be presented with the strategies often used to work through the recovery process. Replantation and problems with replantation will be discussed, as well as the decision to attach or not to reattach. Case studies will be incorporated.

To conclude the day, rehabilitation following replantation, as well as general challenges with work-related rehabilitation will be presented; the recovery process, treatment options and the road to recovery after workplace trauma.

Case managers and adjusters, medical providers, employers and occupational and physical therapists are encouraged to attend. Continuing education credits pending approval.
